Cul de Sac Experience has been described by Charles Phoenix as “A mesmerizing midcentury extravaganza unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before!”
Produced by HOA #4, this time capsule experience is a part of the Modernism Week Fall Preview in late October. From the moment you enter this secluded circle in the architecturally iconic Canyon View Estates, you're transported back to the mid-60s, with intact William Krisel-designed homes on tour, a curated collection of classic vehicles in the carports and driveways, and go-go platforms for our very own Cul-de-Sac Dancers to shake things up. Period music, high fashion models, and some special surprises make this an event you won't forget! New for 2019 was a guided behind-the-scenes tour of the pool and garden areas, sensitively redesigned with drought-tolerant desert landscaping.
You'll marvel at the architectural details of the homes on tour that define midcentury modern—the innovative double gable roofs with clerestory windows all around, the patterned concrete block, the elegant stone fronts, and the unique decor that each homeowner has adapted to their lifestyle.
Everyone leaves with a Cul-de-Sac A-Go-Go! souvenir booklet—filled with history, photos and vintage ads—and a smile on their face! As Palm Springs Life says, “It’s midcentury modern eye candy at its finest.”
Proceeds from Cul de Sac have been used to expand our transition to sustainable and architecturally sensitive drought-tolerant landscaping.
